Bikini Hair Removal

Bikini hair removal is something that more and more women (and a few men) are making sure to keep up on. It used to be that no one cared – but now is considered to be hygienic and it also makes it possible for women to wear their favorite bikinis or other skimpy bathing suits.

There are two ways you can remove the hair from this area; waxing and shaving. If you wish to do it the easy, quick, and painful way than waxing is for you. However, we do not recommend that you do this yourself. It is tricky and you will save time and money if you have a professional do it for you.

Shaving the bikini hair is not as easy as shaving the legs or underarms. It requires a great deal of patience and just the right products and maneuvers to make sure that nothing goes wrong during the process. You need to be able to get a close enough shave for it to matter while avoiding ingrown hairs and cuts.

Shaving Cream

First you need to find a shaving cream that is sensitive for that part of the body. Soap should never be used! It is important to find one that is either a cream or gel and that is effective at providing a smooth shave, moisturizing the skin, and preventing ingrown hairs.

Razors

This is not the time to be using the cheap throwaway razors. All these will do is cut your skin open. You need a razor that is designed with a pivoted head and has multiple blades for a close shave.

What To Do

  • Before you can begin you must first trim the hair down to a reasonable length. Place a comb flat against the skin and trim the hair that is over it using scissors or clippers. The less hair there is the easier it will be.
  • Take a warm bath or shower for five to ten minutes. The heat will help to soften the skin and the hair follicle. Remove any dead skin cells with a mild exfoliator or body wash.
  • Apply shaving oil to the skin. This will help the razor to run smoothly over it and to moisturize your skin. It is also great at preventing razor burn, ingrown hairs, and skin irritation.
  • Make sure the area is damp and apply shaving cream. Use a new blade and run the razor in the direction of the hair growth. Now run it back in the opposite direction while pulling the skin taut. When you have covered the whole area rinse it off and apply a moisturizer.
  • Ingrown hairs is very common in this area. Try finding a special serum that will help to fight this and keep the area smooth and pain free.
