Electrolysis Hair Removal

Electrolysis is a type of hair removal that has actually been approved by the FDA as a type of permanent hair removal. This is something that no other form of body hair removal has received. Unlike laser removal this is not restricted to certain people of certain skin types. This can be used on everyone.

During this process an electric current is pushed into each hair follicle through a fine needle shaped electrode. This is used to destroy the root of each hair. The three types of electrolysis includes; thermolysis, blend, and galvanic.

The hair grows differently on everyone and in various stages which are the growing, resting, and then shedding. The hair in the area will never be on the same stage making it difficult to get all of it in one session. Just like with laser removal this require multiple sessions in order to remove it all when in the growth stage.

What makes this hair removal so popular is the results that it offers when compared to most other forms. It is able to keep the hair from growing back as fast and to eventually – after enough treatments – to remove it completely.

Unlike most other types of hair removal processes this does not target the color or pigment in the skin. It will attack the actual follicle and allow people of any skin color and skin type to use it.

There are things that can make electrolysis harder for the dermatologist to use. People who have waxed or tweezed the hair will risk damaging or bending the follicle. When this happens it makes it hard for them to get the needle exactly to the root to destroy it.

Like with most body hair removal processes this requires more than one treatment to be effective. For some people this means it could take between fifteen to thirty minutes. One of the only side effects from it is slight skin discoloration. For most clinics a thirty minute session is $45.
